<p>The Maddux School, a part of the Ivymount School has been educating special needs students from the Washington, DC metro area for almost 50 years. The school in Potomac, which educates students ages 4 through 21, strives to offer an atmosphere where students can achieve their highest level of development. The school has two programs: the Ivymount School and the Ivymount Outreach Programs. The outreach is a way teach the community to support at-risk children  and help those children live with dignity and self-respect.  </p>
<p>The school is nonpublic and students interested in attending Ivymount may have their education funded through their local school district. Director Janet Wintrol and her staff of 250 help educate the more than 200 students who attend the school.</p>

  • Hours: The Ivymount School is in session 11 months of the year from 8:45am until 3:15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday, school is in session from 8:45am until 12:45pm. The office is open during school hours.
