Concrete Used to Smash Window, Ransack Home

The tools of the burglary trade can be as simple as a piece of concrete.

A piece of concrete was used by someone to smash a rear basement window of a home in the 4200 block of East-West Highway, Chevy Chase, on Monday, May 13, according to Montgomery County police. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the home. As of Tuesday morning, it was unknown what—if anything—was taken, police said. The incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said.

Office Suite Burglary Spree Suspect Arrested

Andre Antonio Henry was arrested for 10 second-degree burglaries in office suites in Rockville and Bethesda.

A Washington, DC man police say was responsible for a rash of office suite burglaries and thefts in Rockville and Bethesda between Jan. 28 and April 15, 2013, was arrested on May 9 in Prince George's County, according to a statement from the Montgomery County Police Department. Police say Andre Antonio Henry, 29, of Northeast Washington, DC, used a flathead screwdriver to force open the entries into the office suites that he burgled. Henry stole electronics and other items, including a credit card, which he used to make purchases, police said. Rockville Man, 2 Teens Among 6 Charged in North Potomac Heists

Burglars stole $100,000 worth of goods from 30 homes, according to Montgomery County Police.

Two Rockville teens and a 21-year-old Rockville man were among six people charged in a North Potomac burglary spree that netted more than $100,000 worth of items, Montgomery County Police said Thursday. According to District Court records accessed online, Tita Ntemgwa Fontava, 21, of the 14000 block of Pellita Terrace, has been charged with 56 counts of burglary, theft, property destruction and related conspiracy charges. Fontava is being held on $20,000 bail and is awaiting a March 1 court hearing. His bail was initially $85,000, the court records show. Teens Arrested in Bethesda Burglaries

Boys knocked on the door at the home of a civilian police employee before allegedly burgling homes in the neighborhood, according to police.

Two teens from Southeast Washington, DC, have been arrested in a Tuesday burglary and attempted burglary, according to police. The boys knocked at the door of a civilian police employee before allegedly burgling homes nearby, police said. According to Montgomery County police spokeswoman Officer Britta Thomas, a civilian employee of Bethesda’s second district police station was at his home in the 9600 block of Bellevue Drive near Rockville Pike when he heard a knock at the door. When he answered, two teen boys asked for a person he didn’t recognize. The teens said, “Sorry, wrong house,” and left, meeting up with several other juveniles down the street.
