Police say the man stole cash and electronics from a North Bethesda business.
Montgomery County police have released images of a man they say stole cash and electronics from a North Bethesda business, and they're asking the public for help in identifying him. The man forced open the door of a locked office in the 11100 block of Rockville Pike overnight on Jan. 28 to 29, according to a Montgomery County police news release. Police say surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect. They're asking anyone who recognizes the man to call 301-657-0112. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment in the case.

Do you recognize this man?
Police are looking for help identifying a suspect in a December burglary of a Bethesda home. Montgomery County police Wednesday released photos—posted above—of a man believed to be responsible for the Dec. 8 burglary of a home on Hatherleigh Drive in Bethesda. The suspect entered the home through an unlocked basement window and stole small electronics, currency, documents, jewelry, gift cards and credit cards, according to a police report. Police say that when the victim’s stolen ATM card was used in Prince George’s County, detectives were able to obtain security photos of the suspect as he withdrew cash. The 1st District Montgomery County Police Department released crime information for Nov. 19-27.
Four residential burglaries and one commercial burglary were reported in Potomac in the Montgomery County Police Department crime summary for the period of Nov. 19-27. In November, police revealed that several of the recent burglaries in Potomac could be related. Police Chief Tom Manger told a late November meeting of the West Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board that burglars were targeting high-end homes in particular. “They don’t care if there’s an alarm,” Manger said at the meeting. “They’re going in and ransacking the houses and stealing high priced jewelry.” Read more here. Five neighborhoods affected by incidents.
First District police continue to investigate five residential burglaries in Potomac that are believed to be related. Police reported the string of burglaries late last week, and were treating the incidents as related. In each one, burglars used force to break into homes, either through the windows or doors, according to a police statement. The intruders targeted jewelry and cash. Affected neighborhoods are spread across the Potomac area, including: “At this time there have been no other burglaries of a similar nature and there are no suspects,” Officer Michael Prather, 1st District community services officer, told Patch.
