Kallinis called the issue a "misunderstanding." Original Post Georgetown Cupcake's Georgetown location at 1209 Potomac St. NW was issued a tax lien for some $189,282.71 in taxes and penalties owed from August, September and October, the Washington Business Journal reports. Drybar Opens Friday in Bethesda

Accompanying the business will be a 13-foot yellow blow-dryer.

Drybar is opening Friday in Bethesda, and along with it comes a 13-foot blow-dryer. Yes. A 13-foot, yellow, operating blow-dryer will be sitting outside the streets of Bethesda to advertise the new business, a blowout-only salon. Drybar offers the blowout service, including a wash, for $40—less than at many typical salons, where the service can start at $55. The $40 flat fee applies to all hair types and lengths, Patch reported in June. "Drybar is a 'blow dry bar' concept created around a very simple idea: No cuts. No color. Just blowouts," according to the salon chain's Facebook page. The new store will open Friday at 4840 Bethesda Ave. Those pedestrians and drivers who may be irritated by the store's accompanying 13-foot obstruction, …

Shark! 999 Bottles of Beer on the Road and More - Within Montgomery County's 500 Square Miles

The traffic disasters on Rockville Pike and I-270 were enough to make you wish for an ATM that dispenses cupcakes.

If you weren't caught in massive backups on Rockville Pike or I-270 last week, consider yourself lucky. If you were –– heads up –– Montgomery County planners would like to change your usual view of the ubiquitous strip malls on your commute. It started Wednesday during rush hour when a fire at Marlo Furniture closed the Pike at Wootton Parkway and forced traffic into downtown. Flames were seen shooting through the roof of the giant box full of kindling in the form of mass-produced home furnishings. Then Thursday, a truck hauling thousands of gallons of Budweiser rolled over and hit a guardrail near the Old Hundred Road exit on I-270. Crews spent nearly seven hours cleaning things up, perhaps while crying over spilt beer. Where would …
