The NFL franchises from Baltimore and San Francisco are both likely to lose Sunday.
They're playing for the Lombardi Trophy, but the Ravens and 49ers are both headed toward a loss on Sunday. Executives from the franchises set to meet in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday told Bloomberg Businessweek that the organizations are set to lose money. Ravens President Dick Cass told the publication the bill is "significant." “You lose money," he said. "But there are long-term benefits that pay off later. Hey, we work hard all year long to go to the Super Bowl. I don’t think anybody would trade off a short-term loss for winning a Super Bowl." Last postseason, the Giants were to pay out an $88,000 share per player for winning the Super Bowl alone, according to Forbes.com. Police: Plan ahead, use a sober designated driver.
Maryland State Police are encouraging football fans to designate a sober driver if they plan to drink on Super Bowl Sunday. Troopers from 22 barracks around the state will specifically target drunken and aggressive driving on Sunday, the agency announced in a news release. “We must remain vigilant to maintain the safety of our motorists and for those traveling throughout Maryland,” said Col. Marcus L. Brown, superintendent of the Maryland State Police. “The aim of our extra drunk and aggressive driving patrols is to arrest those who choose to disregard the law and who endanger the lives of everyone.” Maryland State Police offered the following tips for those who are drinking: If you are hosting a party: State police advise drivers that …

Pizza puffies, baked Reuben dip on rye and cookie pizza: three non-traditional takes on Super Bowl party finger foods.
Step away from tradition with these tasty finger foods. They’re easy to eat and not your typical football fare. Pizza puffies—makes 24 3/4 cup self-rising flour 1/8 tsp. granulated garlic ¼ tsp. each dried basil and oregano 3/4 cup milk 1 egg 4 oz. whole salami 1 1/4 cup shredded four-cheese Italian blend ½ cup pizza sauce or non-chunky marinara sauce Coat a mini-muffin pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic and herbs. (If you don’t have self-rising flour, add three-fourths of a tablespoon of baking powder to three-fourths of a cup of all-purpose flour.) Thoroughly mix in the milk and egg. Dice salami into quarter-inch cubes and add to bowl. Use the lowest fat salami you can find to avoid the greasies! …
