Thanksgiving Travel Will Be Even Busier This Year, AAA Says

43.6 million travelers expected over the holiday weekend, the fourth consecutive increase.

  Thanksgiving Day is less than a week away and the countdown is on for the most congested roads and crowded airports of the year. AAA is predicting the fourth consecutive increase in the number of Thanksgiving travelers this year, albeit on smaller budgets. The travel group expects 43.6 million Americans will hit the highways and airports over the holiday, a 0.7 percent bump over last year, reports USA Today. But whereas travelers spent on average of $544 last year, they will spend only $498 this year, according to USA Today. Ninety percent of the holiday’s travel will be done by car and 7 percent in the air, The Washington Post reported. Potomac Debuts 'My Fair Lady' Friday

The Potomac Theatre Company will kick off its 2012-2013 season this weekend.

The Potomac Theatre Company begins its 2012-2013 season with a makeover, presenting the famed Broadway musical "My Fair Lady." Starring Ken Kemp as Henry Higgins and Mary Schmidt Wakefield as Eliza Doolittle, and directed by Kevin Sockwell, the show tells a classic story of a young Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from an arrogant phoneticist in order to pass as an English lady.  Based on George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion," "My Fair Lady" features classic songs, including "Loverly," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "Get Me to the Church On Time.” A live orchestra under the direction of Ronald Isaacson will help bring the show to life at the Blair Family Center for the Arts at Bullis School.
