Mall's latest offering features high-end footwear.
Spotted in Bethesda: Stuart Weitzman is open at Westfield Montgomery Mall, giving area fasionistas another option for high-end footwear. The store opened Jan. 3, according to Westfield Montgomery Mall spokesperson Joanna Caputi. Currently, Stuart Weitzman is having a sale – up to 50 percent off select shoes – as an opening promotion. The new store will offer personalized chocolates, catering and gift options.
When Tasty Image opens later this month in the Westfield Montgomery Mall, Bethesda and Potomac residents will have a new option for personalized gift-giving. The franchise’s first Maryland store will open on the lower level of Montgomery Mall Dec. 21, according to Mercedes Bendeck, the store’s senior catering specialist, and offers an assortment of chocolate boxes and personalized chocolate products. In addition to catering and gift options, Bendeck says the store will have enough space for in-house parties. “Our specialty is the personalized gifts – really putting your name on it,” she said. The new Westfield Montgomery Mall eatery has pushed its opening date to mid-December.
Aroma Espresso Bar, slated to open in mid-December, could be serving beer and wine, alongside a menu that includes soups, salads, breakfast and pastries. Emily De Titta of Montgomery County’s Department of Liquor Control confirmed that Aroma Espresso Bar opening in the Westfield Montgomery Mall has applied for a liquor license. The business is scheduled for a hearing on Dec. 20. Multiple Aroma Espresso Bar locations in New York also serve beer and wine, according to its website. Macy's will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million, for every Santa letter dropped at the Westfield Montgomery Mall store.
If only it were possible to help make the world a better place with just our greedy, materialistic thoughts. Apparently it is. The 5th year of Macy's Believe Holiday Campaign benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation is in full swing, allowing children of all ages to trade in Santa letters in exchange for $1 donations to the charity. Children of all ages can bring a stamped Santa wish letter to the Westfield Montgomery Mall Macy’s, addressed to Santa at the North Pole, and drop it into the Macy’s Santa Mail Letterbox. For each letter received, from now umtil Dec. 24, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish up to $1 million, according to a recent blog post on Patch. The restaurant launched by celebrity chef Bobby Flay could be open within a year, Bethesda Magazine reports.
Bobby's Burger Palace, the burger chain launched by celebrity chef Bobby Flay, soon will be open at the Westfield Montgomery Mall, Bethesda Magazine reports. The chain could be open within a year as part of a major expansion planned for the shopping center, which will include renovations to the food court and a new movie theater. The chain, which also has Maryland locations in College Park and at the Maryland Live! Casino at Arundel Mills, features burgers with Angus beef, ground turkey or chicken breast. It’s been a busy week for crime outside of Potomac's borders, though inside of zip 20854 things have stayed relatively quiet. The Dumpling Dojo, a new mall food vendor, reported a burglary the morning of Sept. 10, after discovering missing cash from the store’s office area, according to a Bethesda Patch report. The owner told police that surveillance footage showed a man wearing a skull cap and a backpack entering the area. Later, another mall business reported a burglary and missing cash. Mall security spotted a man fitting the surveillance footage and notified police. Delonte Smith of Chillum Place in Northeast Washington was arrested Sept. 14 at a bus stop near the mall, after which police say he confessed to the crime. Read more on …

Montgomery County Police have arrested a Washington, DC, man they say confessed to burglarizing two businesses at the Westfield Montgomery Mall. Delonte Ernesto Smith, 23, of the 5200 block of Chillum Place in Northeast Washington, was arrested Sept. 14 at a bus stop near the mall after Westfield security contacted police. Officers responded to Dumpling Dojo, a recently opened food vendor in the mall's food court, around 11:30 a.m. Sept. 10. The owner had arrived at work and discovered cash missing from the office area, according to a police report. Dumplings are the latest dining option for hungry mall shoppers.
If you're a dumpling fan, you're in luck. Dumpling Dojo has recently opened up shop in the food court at the Westfield Montgomery Mall. The dumpling shop is headed up by Jeffrey Yu, the son of the owner of Wheaton dim sum destination Hollywood East Cafe, The Washington Post reported. News of the opening was first reported by Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer. The eatery provides dumpling options for vegetarians and carnivores alike, with fillings including spicy shrimp, pork, turkey and spinach, beef and snow pea leaves, and edamame and vegetables.
