Will you see the high school's latest production?
The blizzards, warm fireplaces and chemistry of 1955 Kansas will roll into Winston Churchill High School Feb. 8 in a production of William Inge's dramatic comedy "Bus Stop." According to the production release on Patch: "Bus Stop" follows a group of strangers traveling by bus, stranded in a rural Kansas diner during a freak snowstorm. The story follows eight characters as they experience frustration, tears and laughter, examine their own motivations and forge unlikely romantic connections in a single night. "'Bus Stop' is an endearing, deceptively simple play that taps into universal feelings," said director Lynda Scionti. Seniors remember a long, happy career in the musical theater program.
This weekend is your last chance to see this year’s Winston Churchill High School Blast performance. Audience members enjoyed watching and listening to the talented singers, dancers, and musicians. And they marveled at the creative set, and sophisticated lighting and sound. Our Blast 24 bloggers say they hope the enthusiasm continues, especially for this year’s graduating senior cast members: For the show’s seniors, reality is now setting in that there are only two more …

We at Patch were particularly inspired by a recent blog post from the Churchill Blast 24 team, detailing the talents of one student working hard behind the scenes of the annual production to make a spectacular show. As sound crew chief and student tech director, senior student Evan Cook has a tremendous responsibility on his hands – the sound and look of this year’s Blast 24 production, according to the team. The blog post reads: Evan is especially proud to implement a cutting edge sound strategy in this year's show. Inspired by a lecture by Tony Meola, the sound …
