@CityRat2013: Thanks for the note. The original published version of the article mentioned that police had gone four years without a raise. That is true for fire and rescue and for county employees as well—a fact that was omitted due to an editing error (mine). It's there now, along with a note at the bottom to clarify.

@AntonFisher: Thanks for the catch. The median sales prices for 2012 and 2013 were reversed in the table. Long & Foster reported a 9 percent increase, as is reflected in the corrected table.

I have good memories of a post-high school graduation lunch with my folks at the Bethesda location. It's sad to see another Washington-area institution fade into the past.
